THE YOUTH EXCHANGE PROGRAMME
Introduces young people to life in other cultures
The Youth Exchange programme is based on the first object of Lions:
"To create and foster a spirit of understanding among the peoples of the world"

The Youth Exchange programme began in 1961 and is committed to broadening international awareness among young people worldwide.
The programme emphasises the value of sharing and community life in another country.
It is not about tourism.
It is about hosting youngsters coming into this country
and sending our young people abroad also
Young people deserve the opportunity to learn how other cultures tick
Young people of quality will gain by the learning experience, enhancing international understanding at a formative age, giving young people in our community a better chance of understanding of the world they are entering.

YOUTH CAMPS
Youth Camps are one or two weeks long for people (ages 16-22) from around the world.
Camps are usually preceded by a family stay that lasts between one and four weeks.
More than 100 Lions camps are held each year in about 39 countries.
Activities include visits to places of cultural or natural interest, sporting events and country presentations by the camp participants.
